Who We Are

We envision a vibrant democracy with justice for all.

Bristol Area Indivisible is a local group affiliated with Indivisible National, a grassroots movement of thousands of local Indivisible groups with "a vision of a real democracy -- of, by, and for the people." Our chapter has over 400 members mostly from Bristol, Lincoln, Monkton, New Haven, and Starksboro. We welcome members from neighboring communities.

We support forward-thinking leaders, strive to rebuild our democracy, advocate for those harmed by federal and state actions, and work for a new vision of our federal system of government. We are committed to education, action, and mutual support.

We work together to defend and strengthen democracy and promote justice through education, non-violent action, and mutual support.
Our headquarters is in Bristol, Vermont but our activities take us throughout Addison County and beyond.
Whatever your skills, abilities, time, and energy we would love to have you join one of our teams.

Structure and Outreach

  • BAI has a Steering Committee which is responsible for overseeing the organization's actions and communications and facilitating chapter meetings

  • Action Groups focus on education, effective communication and action around these issues: migrant support, education, policy development, election integrity, and noncooperation. We form additional Action Groups based on need and interest.

  • BAI holds monthly chapter meetings.

  • We send a weekly Action Alert to our email list with pertinent news, bright spots, and opportunities for action.

In building a strong and complex coalition, we:

  • collaborate with over 30 other Indivisible Chapters across Vermont

  • participate in weekly calls with Indivisible National

  • work with other pro-democracy organizations
